During the summer, we provide free, nutritional breakfasts and lunches to children under 18 at multiple locations in our community. In the three summers since the pandemic, we served over 40,000 summer meals. Meals are served weekdays from June through August. All the meals are prepared by volunteers using fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables and other ingredients.
In 2019, North Hills Cares organized the community’s first-ever summer lunch program, serving a total of more than 1200 meals. Programs like this help families replace the free or low-cost meals served at school.
For our 2022 program, we received local gold level and national silver level recognition from local and national food bank programs. We are proud to continue to serve these children in our communities for the summers to come!
